Deep Pet Odor Elimination — Multi-Room Treatment in Lutz

A family with three indoor cats and one elderly dog was struggling with persistent pet odors throughout their home. Despite regular cleaning and using retail pet odor products, the smell would return within days. They were preparing to list the home for sale and worried the odor would deter buyers.

We began with a comprehensive UV blacklight inspection of all carpeted areas, which revealed numerous urine deposits that were invisible under normal lighting. Each affected area was treated with a specialized enzymatic solution that contains live bacteria cultures and enzymes designed to break down the uric acid crystals — the component of pet urine that causes persistent odors. The solution was injected deep into the carpet backing and pad where urine had penetrated. After a dwell time, we performed sub-surface extraction to flush out the broken-down contaminants. This was followed by a full hot water extraction cleaning of all carpeted areas.

The home had 850 sq ft of carpet across multiple rooms, and several urine deposits were old and had deeply penetrated the pad. We identified approximately 25 individual urine spots through the blacklight inspection. One area near a bedroom closet had been repeatedly soiled, requiring pad replacement in that specific section — we worked with the homeowner to replace a 4x4 section of pad before treating the carpet above it.

The pet odor was completely eliminated throughout the home. The UV blacklight re-inspection confirmed no remaining active urine deposits. The home successfully passed the buyer's inspection with no odor concerns, and the sellers closed on the sale. The key was the combination of enzymatic treatment at the pad level, sub-surface extraction, and full carpet cleaning — surface cleaning alone would not have addressed the root cause.
