Church Sanctuary Carpet Cleaning — 5,000 Sq Ft in Wesley Chapel

A local church with a 5,000 sq ft sanctuary had carpet tiles that hadn't been professionally cleaned in over two years. High-traffic aisles had become dark and heavily soiled, gum was stuck to carpet in several pew areas, and candle wax had dripped onto carpet near the altar. The church needed the work completed before their Sunday service without any downtime.

We deployed our truck-mounted extraction system and worked section by section through the sanctuary. Heavy traffic lanes received a pre-treatment with a commercial traffic lane cleaner that loosens embedded soil before extraction. Gum and adhesive residue were carefully removed using a specialized solvent and scraping technique that doesn't damage carpet fibers. Candle wax was extracted using a heat-transfer method with brown kraft paper and a commercial iron. After treatment, we performed hot water extraction across all 5,000 sq ft.

The primary challenge was the timeline — the church needed the sanctuary ready for Sunday morning service. We scheduled the project for Friday, starting at 8 AM. The sanctuary has no direct exterior door, so we ran 150 feet of solution and vacuum hose through the building. We deployed 8 industrial air movers to accelerate drying. Another challenge was the gum — we found over 30 pieces embedded in the carpet tiles throughout the pew rows.

All 5,000 sq ft of carpet was cleaned, deodorized, and fully dry by Saturday evening — well ahead of the Sunday service. Traffic lanes were restored to near-original appearance, all gum was removed without carpet damage, and candle wax was completely extracted.
